Devon and Cornwall Police was called to Millbrook Lane in Exeter, Devon, on 19 April following reports of a concern for welfare. Shirley Billam was found dead at the property.
Laurence Billam, of Millbrook Lane, is due to appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with her murder.
Police said the family was being supported by specialist officers.
