Chinese biotech firms tackle urgent initiative to create four new pharmaceutical drugs to treat world’s fastest growing form of dementia

This urgent initiative aims to avert a looming public health and economic crisis, driven by the limited availability and high cost of current therapies.
They were there for the launch of a national project to “develop new biological drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease”, according to the institute’s website.
China has the world’s fastest-growing number of dementia cases, with the number of diagnosed Alzheimer’s cases increasing threefold over the past three decades.
