What’s left of the Mets bullpen got a fresh arm Friday, as veteran right-hander Carl Edwards Jr. was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse.
To make room for Edwards, Christian Scott was optioned to Syracuse after a horrific outing in his return from Tommy John surgery on Thursday.

His early exit forced Tobias Myers and David Peterson into action, as the already depleted pen is relying on multiple starters — including Sean Manaea — to get by.
The 34-year-old Edwards last appeared in the majors in 2025.
He’s spent parts of 11 years in the big leagues.
