By this time next week, Anthony Volpe could be ready to come off the injured list and rejoin the Yankees after October shoulder surgery. He is expected to regain his starting shortstop job, which will send José Caballero to the bench, which will send a bench player packing.

Assuming everyone stays healthy until then, the Yankees have a few ways they could go to open a roster spot for Volpe, though none of them are super-clean in terms of how they would impact the overall roster.
