A developmentally disabled North Carolina woman allegedly plotted to slaughter “as many Jews as possible” in a crazed attack on Texas’ oldest synagogue.
Angelina Han Hicks, 18, was allegedly one of three masterminds behind a foiled scheme to ram a vehicle into the Congregation Beth Israel synagogue in Houston — which the trio planned for April 21, 2028, Click2Houston reported.

Hicks was arrested on Wednesday, just one day after the FBI received a tip that someone in her area “was planning a mass casualty event at a Jewish Day School near Houston, Texas,” according to FBI Director Kash Patel.
A preschool and elementary school sit on the same campus as the Congregation Beth Israel.
The two alleged co-conspirators, only publicly named as “Angel” and “Teegan,” haven’t been identified and remain at large.
Hicks’ father told KHOU 11 that the steep charges against the high schooler were “way over the top” and claimed the alleged plan was part of a “fantasy game.”
He explained that his daughter is on a “high-powered medication” and her mental development resembles that of a pre-teen or child.
“She don’t drive. She ain’t got a car. She don’t have guns. She don’t know how to use a gun. She never shot a gun,” he said.
“How’s she gonna get to Texas? It’s nuts what they’ve done to her,” he said.
“She never left us more than a day or two at a time, and that was with adults, not no teenagers,” her mother added.
The Congregation Beth Israel synagogue is Texas’ oldest Jewish house of worship. ABC11 Hicks’ parents admitted that they know next to nothing about technology, but highlighted Roblox as one of her favorite gaming platforms.
On Thursday, the Houston Police Department announced that a 16-year-old was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder related to “a threat directed towards certain Jewish institutions in our area.”
Authorities did not cite Congregation Beth Israel specifically or identify the teen as one of Hicks’ purported co-conspirators.
Hicks was charged with felony conspiracy to commit murder and felony conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at a whopping $10 million, in part to prevent her from contacting her alleged partners.
