Next crop of LA28 Olympics tickets gets drop date

Olympics fans itching to see the spectacle in Los Angeles in 2028 won’t have to wait much longer for the next opportunity to buy seats.

LA28 officials announced on Thursday a new crop of tickets will be available for purchase in August and “will include refreshed inventory across all Olympic sports at a range of price points.”

The process to get in line for the sale is a fairly simple one, according to event organizers.

Fans must register for the “Drop 2 LA28 Olympic Draw” at tickets.LA28.org by July 22, 2026, and then a random lottery will determine who gets the right to buy.

Those who didn’t hit their maximums during the first drop will be eligible for Drop 2, event organizers said.

Ticket sales for the event previously occurred earlier this month, and they were met with controversy.

Fans complained of sky-high prices, with one, Aastha Jani, comparing the experience to trying to lock down tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.

“Felt like reentering the Ticketmaster war,” she joked.

Others griped about sold-out events and “Access Denied” errors.

LA previously hosted the Olympics in 1932 and 1984. Over 15,000 athletes are slated to compete this go-around.
