As Jerry Jones and Cowboys brass were holding their pre-NFL draft press conference on Wednesday, former president Bill Clinton stopped by, interrupting the proceedings.
“I’m negotiating the draft,” Clinton quipped as he walked into the press conference room.
Jones, 83, then nearly fell off the dais as he went to greet his fellow Arkansas native. It is unclear what the reason behind Clinton’s visit was.
“I’m glad to see ya,” Jones said.
Clinton, 79, was the president the last time the Cowboys won a Super Bowl 30 years ago.
“He’s been a wonderful not only president but a friend over the years, and really happy to have you here today,” Jones said to Clinton.
“Thank you, I’m glad to see you,” Clinton said. “Have a good draft day.”
The Cowboys visited Clinton at the White House after their three Super Bowl victories in the 1990s.

“Mr. President, it is a tremendous thrill and tremendous honor for all of us to make you an official member of the Dallas Cowboys as a reserve quarterback,” Johnson said then, which drew laughter from Clinton.
“Thank you. I’m just going to sit around now and wait for my number to be called,” Clinton joked. “I’m going to start practicing this afternoon. You know, it’s never too late.”
The Cowboys currently own the Nos. 12 and 20 picks in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, which begins Thursday at 8 p.m.
