Hugh Jackman is ramming into theaters with murder mystery comedy ‘The Sheep Detectives’

Hugh Jackman attends "The Sheep Detective" premiere at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in New York. Andy Kropa/Invision/AP Shallow end of talent pool Show business has spawned a specialty organization called a Talent Agency.

It’s a rest stop with phones. One, in particular, we’ll call NBW, which really stands for Nobody Works. They’re the liaison between Consumer and Consumee. However, all that’s consumed is time. Call and the person sought “is at lunch.” Some days their 10 a.m. meeting is over where to do lunch. 11-to-4 is this lunch. 4-to-5 p.m. is to discuss what was discussed at lunch. 5 p.m. everyone leaves because it’s been a tough day. Many exit carrying a bag. In it? Sweats for the gym.

No personnel are over 23. Anyone who really knows the business gets fired. Their previous training? Summer lifeguard.

The office says it wants young blood. One assistant VP suddenly disappeared. Had to take his Regents exams. Another couldn’t visit CBS because he’s not allowed to cross the street.

Warm weather is coming and with it summer stock. The mountains, the country, who cares if you can sing? The talent requirement: You got a car?

One driver went to pick up a soprano. No doorman, bell broken. He banged on her door. Meanwhile, a cop ticketed him for double-parking. She finally arrived with a magician who brought his fiddle, collapsible table, trunk, tricks, wardrobe, cigar and props.

All three crowded upfront. Driver opened the window. This then opened the singer’s mouth. The breeze affected the magician and ruffled his hairpiece.

At the gas station, only sounds came from the driver’s wallet.

My advice? Forget singing lessons, dancing lessons. Just take driving lessons and your future is assured.

Wolverine is now Wool-verine. Hugh Jackman hangs with sheep in “The Sheep Detectives.” Murder mystery comedy is Agatha Christie meets Mel Brooks.

Jackman: “I fell in love with my character George who’s in love with sheep way more than humans. It has heart. I cried reading the script. Which is rare for me. I’m Agatha Christie’s favorite reader. I take the bait every time.”

THE beef people don’t wish to be left out of any foodie or diet discussions. So they now claim: “There will never be mad cow disease in the USA. Never.”

OK. However, rumor has it that they’re ignoring a Pissed-off Poultry epidemic.

Definitely not only in New York, kids, not only in New York.
