A Brazilian beauty queen has been busted for allegedly funding a lavish lifestyle with drug trafficking money – weeks after boasting that 2026 would be the “year of karma.”
Influencer Sara Monteiro, who bragged about her ritzy lifestyle to her legion of 107,000 social media followers, was nabbed Wednesday in Sao Paulo as part of a major drugs crackdown dubbed “Operation Luxury.”
Monteiro, who owned a women’s fashion store that cops said inspired the operation’s codename, boasted about her vacations, attended yacht parties and the Tomorrowland music festival — but top cop Rafael Herrera described her lifestyle as “economically incompatible” with reality, Globo reported.

She was allegedly seen near a rural home that was being used as a drug transport base while walking her dog, further fueling cops’ suspicions.
She’s set to face allegations of money laundering, drug trafficking and involvement in an organized crime group, just week’s after an ironic post about what the coming year would hold.
“This year is the year of karma. Good luck to everyone who tried to destroy me for nothing, I’m looking forward to the harvest!” she said.

He’s accused of moving more than $2.1 million in unexplained transactions while also living a life of luxury.
So far, 24 people have been arrested and 20 cars have been seized, including Porsches and BMWs, as part of Operation Luxury.
