5 dogs found poisoned to death in Hong Kong’s New Territories in single week

String of cases recorded in Lok Ma Chau, with carcass of ‘Glue’ found floating in mangroves on Sunday

The force on Sunday said that between February 16 and Saturday, it had received four reports involving the discovery of five dead dogs suspected to have been poisoned in an open space on Liu Pok Road in Lok Ma Chau.

The latest case had been classified as “cruelty to animals” following a preliminary investigation, but no arrests have been made yet, the force said.

“The carcasses of the five dogs have been transferred to the relevant department for toxicological examination and testing,” it said.

Narelle Pamuk, the charity’s chairwoman and operator, said she borrowed a boat to search for the missing dog and found the carcass floating in mangroves.
