This AI-powered robotic cleaner is ushering in a new era of pool maintenance

Some folks are beach people who love spending a day in the sand. Me? I’m a pool guy.

Give me a clean in-ground setup and a solid playlist — I’ll be set for summer. Cleanliness is a key factor, though. There’s nothing worse than expecting to have a fun and relaxing swim day only to find the facilities aren’t up to snuff. That’s why pool owners need to invest in a quality cleaner. It’s also why I find myself suddenly obsessed with Beatbot’s AquaSense X.

It doesn’t get more top-of-the-line than the AquaSense X. Beatbot’s latest high-end solution for pool maintenance is the perfect marriage of technological advances and sleek design. With features like AI mapping and voice control, this already-impressive piece of equipment is also a cinch to use.

We recently put it to use on a Florida pool to determine just how simple the whole process was. Here’s how it went.

Made from an automotive-grade coating to protect it from wear and tear and environmental factors, the AquaSense X is built to last — maybe even longer than your actual pool. Incorporating the latest technological advances, like voice control and AI mapping, allows this cleaner to be one of the most automated experiences currently available on the market. Just set it in the water, use the app to set the type of cleaning you want, and let the Beatbot do the rest. With self-cleaning capabilities and an enormous receptacle, you’ll need to do very little until it’s time to empty the docking station bin.

The Beatbot AquaSense X is designed to be as intuitive as possible from the moment you take it out of the box and start pairing it with the accompanying free app via your phone.

Whether you prefer to vocalize your requests or program them, your wish is the Aquasense X’s command. You can assign it tasks like performing a cleaning session or returning to the charging station to power up. The app allows you to check on the status of a task or adjust settings as needed.

In order to really get the full scope of how this works, we set the AquaSense X review unit up to work on a free-formed, unusually-shaped pool following a period of heavy rainfall. Our testing process was as follows:

Getting the device into the pool does require you to pick it up and set it in the water. It’s not as heavy when it goes from the docking station to the pool as it is when it comes out, so it’s important to drain the water out before fully lifting it again.

The first session took about four hours and made a noticeable difference in the amount of debris in the pool. It focused on the areas where debris is known to gather (think edges and deep end) before following a sort of grid pattern to clean the remainder of the pool. By the second run, there was nothing left to vacuum up and the water was noticeably clearer.

One of the most impressive accomplishments was the cleaner’s ability to successfully navigate the pool’s odd layout. The floor, the walls, the waterline…no surface was safe from this little guy and it returned to the surface on its own when it was done.

You can program the cleaner to focus on the pool floor, the walls, the surface of the water or all of the above. It reached crevices other vacuums were not able to get to, leaving the water clear as glass — all without generating a lot of noise. (Lesser models from other brands can sometimes create a disturbing amount of sound as they get to work.)

The AquaSense X has a self-cleaning feature that makes it a must-have gadget. Beatbot really knocks it out of the park with the self-cleaning.

Once the Aquasense X is done handling business, it recharges at the AstroRinse station and cleans itself in around three minutes. It rinses itself out and empties all debris into a 22-liter basket. With a basket that size, it can hold up to two months’ worth of debris before needing to be emptied.

This is one of the major features that sets this cleaner apart. It really takes a lot of the exhausting manual labor out of pool cleaning. The AstroRinse station’s sleek design also helps elevate any yard space, providing a luxe and almost futuristic aesthetic. It’s a conversation-starter that’ll have you eager to show it off to guests.

There’s no denying that the AquaSense X is an investment piece, but it’s tough to put a price tag on convenience. Picture those hot summer days you could be spending enjoying yourself instead of laboring over your pool. You could cut the cost of what you might be expecting to pay for a professional cleaning service and put it toward this new aquatic robot maid. Between the durability and the 3-year warranty, the AquaSense X is destined to become the must-have gadget of the summer…and many more summers beyond that.
