Power publicist and tech investor asks $3.15M for ‘Good Karma House’ in LA: ‘It’s been a very prosperous place for me’

Power publicist, tech investor and founder Jessica Schaefer is listing her Venice Beach home for $3.15 million — down from its $3.75 million ask last year.

Dubbed the “Good Karma House,” the modern beach bungalow, built in 2016, is at 621 Mildred Ave., in the Silver Triangle neighborhood by Abbot Kinney Blvd.

Schaefer founded her PR company, Bevel, in 2017 — and then sold it for a reported $75 million to Jeff Herzog’s Avenue Z in 2023. Her clients have included crypto companies like Coinbase and hedge funders like Steve Cohen’s Point72. Over the years, she has worked with OpenAI, Coinbase, Better.com, Morgan Stanley, Mastercard, Acorns, Dave.com, Greycroft, TheRealReal, Bird, Public.com and Yieldstreet.

Schaefer then founded a femtech AI-powered fertility services start-up, Lushi — named for a chicken that lays blue eggs. It spun out of her own personal need for help navigating a post-divorce egg-freezing journey that, she realized, reflected a larger gap for such a service in the general market, she has said in prior interviews.

Earlier this year, Schaefer also launched AI-powered Capital V Strategies, a “reputation advisory firm for CEOs” for strategic communications, brand building and search engine maximization for tech companies, founders, hedge funders and CEOs — as well as for celebrities, athletes and posh brands. CapV also has a venture arm. It’s based out of a 6,000-square-foot space at 40 Thompson St. in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood.

The three-bedroom dwelling is 2,766 square feet and features glass walls, an elevator and a rooftop deck with a built-in barbeque, lounge seating, a dining area, a fire pit — and views from Malibu to the Santa Monica Mountains.

The home, Schaefer told Gimme Shelter, “is where I sold my first company and started my second — Bevel and Lushi.”

She added: “I believe in cosmic energy and it’s been a very prosperous place for me. Every dollar I put into this home was a reflection of making my dreams a reality. I want another founder to experience the same good fortune.”

The main level features a double-sided fireplace, high ceilings and window walls — and an open living/dining area with a chef’s kitchen.

A main bedroom suite features a glass wall overlooking greenery, plus a spa-like bath with an onyx shower.

One of Schaefer’s favorite things about the home are the lemon and kumquat trees.

“It takes five years for lemon trees to grow fruit. I first planted them during COVID when everything was falling apart as an act of faith. Five years later — fruit on the trees, two companies built, and a third just started, I’m leaving them for the next owner because this home will bloom something beautiful for them too,” she added.

Schaefer bought the home for around $3.59 million in 2022 from LA rug designer Erik Lindstrom, who designed and built it with the award-winning architecture firm Minarc. Design details include polished concrete floors, recessed lighting, built-ins — and a 400-bottle wine cellar with a dumbwaiter.

“A lot of my best ideas happened around the fire pit,” Schaefer said. “Million-dollar deals, late-night talks just staring up at the sky with a glass of wine. The 400-bottle cellar kept us well stocked. This home knows how to work and how to unwind. If you’re a builder, a dreamer, or just someone who loves a good night under the stars, this home is the perfect fit.”

The listing brokers are Carl Gambino and John Bercsi, of the Gambino Group at Compass. Gambino also helped Schaefer move to the East Coast with his Concierge Relocation Services, a “value add” that included finding her a cross-country art transfer service.
