Mason Miller, 20, from Northampton, died in the attack at the town's Briar Hill Skate Park on Wednesday, while a 17-year-old remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in the same incident.

Police said two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old youth appeared before Northampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon "as part of the wider police investigation".

They have been granted conditional bail and put into local authority care, Northamptonshire Police added.

On Thursday, police said four boys, aged 17, 16, 15 and 14, had been arrested on suspicion of murder, while two men, aged 35 and 56, and a woman, 33, had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Det Insp Matt Bly, from East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said the force's "thoughts first and foremost remain with Mason's family at this difficult time".

Bly, who is leading the case, said the murder investigation remained fast-moving and several lines of inquiry were being looked at.

"We are continuing to work across a number of fronts to piece together what happened and to determine who is responsible.

"The public's co-operation will be key to this, and I would urge anyone with information to come forward - including CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage - to contact the force as a matter of urgency," he said.

The force said "dozens of detectives, police officers and staff had been working" since the stabbings that took place at about 15:30 GMT on Wednesday.

House-to-house inquiries have been carried out, while high-visibility patrols have also been made to reassure the local community, it added.
