Giants sign veteran quarterback Brandon Allen in depth move

The Giants are tinkering with their quarterback room.

The team announced it has signed veteran Brandon Allen on Monday.

Allen is the epitome of a journeyman — spending time with the Jaguars, Rams, Broncos, Bengals, 49ers and Titans since being selected by Jacksonville in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Allen has thrown for 1,882 yards and 11 touchdowns with nine interceptions while playing in 19 games — most recently appearing for the Titans last season.

The need for depth at the position is underlined by Dart’s propensity to put himself at risk while scrambling.

Dart suffered a concussion against the Bears on Nov. 9 that cost him two games and he dealt with a number of injuries throughout the season.

Winston played well as a fill-in as the team moved on from Russell Wilson, who started the first three games of the season.

Allen starred for his hometown Arkansas Razorbacks before arriving in the NFL.
