A case can be made that cornerback should be a priority in this draft for the Giants.
They lost a starter, Cor’Dale Flott, in free agency to the Titans. The reaction to that was to sign Greg Newsome II to a one-year contract, hoping the former first-round pick (Browns, 2021) at age 25 can put it all together.
Newsome should start alongside Paulson Adebo, who had a nondescript 2025 debut with his new team.
LSU’s Mansoor Delane Getty Images Deonte Banks, a 2023 first-round bust, is back for now, but he will not be counted on for anything at this point.
Dru Phillips returns as the slot corner but competition at that spot must exist.
This is an unusual draft in that a corner might not go in the first 10 picks. This means No. 5 feels too high to address this position.

This would be a need-based move, which is not very exciting but could be prudent.
