Ghost of Trae Young looms over Knicks’ testy playoff matchup with Hawks

New York Knicks Mike Vaccaro Ghost of Trae Young looms over Knicks’ testy playoff matchup with Hawks By Mike Vaccaro Published April 12, 2026, 11:03 p.m. ET Trae Young (11) waves to the crowd after making a three point shot against the New York Knicks in the fourth quarter of Game 5 of an NBA basketball first-round playoff series Wednesday, June 2, 2021, in New York. AP This would all be a lot more interesting if the Hawks hadn’t rid themselves of Trae Young back at the trade deadline, of course, if they hadn’t exiled him to Washington, D.C., which has been pro basketball purgatory, seemingly, since Calvin Coolidge sat courtside.
