This is a pawsitive ending — a cat missing for five years was reunited with her family.
KitKat of Texas, who had been lost since 2021, was brought to Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, which scanned its microchip — leading it to its owners.
The fur baby, who was miraculously healthy with only a minor abrasion on her leg, was identified by its parents via a photo the shelter posted to its website
KitKat of Texas reunited with her owner thanks to its microchip. Williamson Country Regional Animal Shelter “My wife got an email saying the chip had been found, and then I got a text as well. The Georgetown shelter, which returned 93 pets to their owners in March alone, was touched by the reunion — and the fact that the feline recognized its owner right away.
The cat was healthy despite having been missing for five years. Williamson Country Regional Animal Shelter “I’ve been doing this since 2013, and I have never seen a reunion after five years. That is incredible,” Leo Delgado of WCRAS told the outlet.
“She was in good spirits, very friendly to the staff, and cuddled up to us right away—of course, she was so happy to see her mom.”
