A 12-year-old boy died in a freak accident while on a family vacation in Italy — after he was sucked into a hot tub filter, authorities said Friday.
Little Matteo Brandimarti was playing in a jacuzzi at the upscale Duca di Montefeltro Hotel in Pennabilli on Easter Sunday morning when his leg got dragged into a filter of the tub, according to The Sun.
Brandimarti was pulled underwater as the hot tub’s hydromassage function was going, and was stuck there for nearly five minutes, the outlet reported.

But the boy, who was rushed to the hospital via helicopter, was already in critical condition.
He was pronounced brain dead on Thursday, and his family plans to switch off life support equipment, according to local media.
