JD Vance expects ‘positive’ peace talks in Pakistan — with ‘clear guidelines’ for Iran

Vice President JD Vance boarded Air Force Two early Friday ahead of what he expects to be “positive” negotiations in Pakistan to wind down the war in Iran.

“We’re looking forward to negotiation. I think it’s going to be positive,” Vance told reporters at Joint Base Andrews.

“As the president of the United States said, if the Iranians are willing to negotiate in good faith, we’re certainly willing to extend the open hand. If they’re going to try to play us, then they’re going to find the negotiating team is not that receptive,” he said.

“So we’re going to try to have a positive negotiation. The president gave us some pretty clear guidelines, and we’re going to see.”
