EMS workers attacked while responding to emergency call in NYC

Several EMS workers were attacked while responding to an emergency call in the Bronx Thursday night, according to police.

The EMTs were responding to a report of an emotionally disturbed person at an apartment building on Sedgwick Avenue in Morris Heights when they were assaulted around 10 p.m., police and sources said.

Police responded to the scene and took the person into custody.

A 32-year-old EMT suffered cuts to the head a 20-year-old EMT was treated for injuries to the face, according to police.

The two were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

In total, four EMS workers were hospitalized for injuries sustained on the call, the FDNY said.
