Police received a report at 12.26pm after a man robbed a branch of Bank of East Asia in Harbour View Centre before fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
Preliminary investigations showed HK$36,000 was stolen but police said they were still calculating the losses.
A number of officers were seen searching for evidence at Gloucester Road, near the scene of the crime.
