Vance – who concluded a visit to Budapest on Thursday – will be joined by US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
The talks are reportedly to take place at Islamabad’s Serena Hotel, which has been fully requisitioned from Wednesday evening through to Sunday, with guests asked to check out.
According to some reports, the Iranian delegation, led by parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, had already arrived in Islamabad. However, Iran’s Tasnim news agency cited an informed source as denying the claim in the early hours of Friday.
