A millionaire New York Democrat running for Congress dropped his bid Thursday as he faced a firestorm of criticism for resurfaced social media posts about kiddie porn and sex with a 17-year-old — but he claimed he made his decision for altruistic reasons.
Peter Chatzky was running in a crowded Democratic Party primary for the 17th House District in the northern suburbs to challenge Republican Rep. Mike Lawler.
“Today, I am suspending my campaign,” said Chatzky, a software executive and deputy mayor in the Westchester County village of Briarcliff Manor.
He dropped out just hours before he was expected to participate in a Democratic debate, where rivals might bring up his gross Facebook posts.
Among them was an August 2020 post detailing an emailed blackmail threat: pay a bitcoin ransom or a video of him accessing an inappropriate teen porn website and masturbating would be released.
When a friend asked on Facebook if he watched porn with or featuring teens, Chatzky said, “It could be both. Although I’m sure it was neither … Pretty sure.”
In 2016, a friend told Chatzky he wanted to get him a “17-year-old Lithuanian gymnast” for his birthday.
“The so-called Lithuanian exception applies here,” Chatzy replied.
The millionaire made some disgusting jokes about masturbation.
“They basically are asking me to pay, after watching me masturbating,” Chatzky said. “As you well know, I get paid after people watch me masturbating. It makes no sense.”
He also made a raunchy comment about then-President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in May 2012.
“So, is Obama, f–king Biden, or what?” Chatzky said.
Chatzky dropped out as more of his social media activities on other social platforms resurfaced, according to screenshots provided to The Post.
He followed porn stars, OnlyFans creators and models.
Chatzky is one of 137 people on Bluesky who follow Holly Carter, a porn star, escort and OnlyFans creator who describes herself as “Australia’s Favourite Milf.”
A page linked in her Bluesky bio boasts that she’s a six-time Adult Industry Choice Awards winner, including “Best Touring Escort 2024,” “Best BJ 2022,” “Best Milf 2022” and “Best XXX Showgirl 2019.”
Chatzky is one of 151 people on Bluesky who follow Claudia Smith, whose bio states, “Content creator, webcam model.”
A link in her Bluesky profile leads to an OnlyFans page where she calls herself “WET MOMMY CLAUDIA SMITH COUGAR” and states, “I’m a naughty and slutty MILF, big boobs, big ass, hot AF and always horny and wet…. Let me drive you crazy and make you explode!”
Chatzky’s personal Instagram account also follows Brady Allen, a 20-year-old dancer in Phoenix, who is affiliated with the Arizona Repertory Ballet.
He recently issued a half-hearted apology about his bawdy posts, while one of his female opponents, Tarrytown Trustee Effie Phillips-Staley, and women’s rights groups urged him to exit the race.
But Chatzky made no mention of the furor over his sex-themed posts, which even included sexualizing his pets.
Instead, Chatzky said in a statement that he withdrew out of altruism for the good of the Democratic primary.
“Were I continue my campaign, the party establishment and my competitors would need to spend significant effort and money to defeat me, resources that would be better spent to defeat Mike Lawler,” he said.
