Two people have been killed after a small plane crash on Catalina Island.
The two-seater aircraft, identified as a factory Sling, reportedly smashed into the south side of the island, on the opposite side to the city of Avalon, just after midday.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn said the two people on board were pronounced dead at the scene.

LAFD said: “DOWNED AIRCRAFT | #Catalina l At approx. 12:23 p.m., #LACoFD units responded to a report of an aircraft emergency. Upon arrival, crews found a crashed single engine plane with 2 fatalities.”
