NATO proves a paper tiger: Letters to the Editor — April 10, 2026

AFP via Getty Images The Issue: President Trump’s complaints about NATO’s lack of assistance in the war against Iran. The United States has done Europe a huge favor and made the Middle East a more stable region.

So why have our “allies” in NATO done virtually nothing to support our efforts to make Europe and the rest of the entire region safer from Iranian aggression (“Eyeing slap at NATO, ” April 9)?

The fact is that NATO is a joke, made up of weak cowardly nations content to let America carry the load to keep the world safe from dangerous regimes like Iran.

Nowhere in the NATO Charter does it require members to jump on board with a war that is instigated without an imminent threat, with varying rationales and with no plan for an exit.

So none of you so-called NATO “allies” wanted to help us in Iran?

Trump, along with his dedicated officials and devoted ally Israel, have embarked on an existential mission to rid the world of Iranian theocratic nuclear blackmail.

Those opposing this essential task include the left, some NATO nations and mainstream media here and abroad.

The pressure to fold, to declare victory prematurely for political reasons, is intense.

Those giants who make history will carve legacies of lasting significance rather than just go with the flow of events.

Trump is fighting and winning a war on four fronts: against the Iranian despots, the Democratic Party, America’s leftist media and the paper tigers of NATO, who we mistakenly used to regard as reliable, dependable, allies.

It’s extremely ballsy that the niece and grandniece of Qassem Soleimani (now living in hell) were enjoying lives that go against the required laws of Iran — the showing of hair and body — while boasting about attacks against their host country, America (“Bad Influence,” Nazee Moinian, PostOpinion, April 7).

The rightful termination of these pro-terrorist players’ US residency was the proper decision to make. Permanent residency is a privilege, not a right.

Qassem Soleimani’s family aren’t the only ones who need to go.

Every nation has trash like them coming here and stealing our tax money and services.

Americans are being denied, while politicians, judges and lawyers make a fortune protecting them.

All federal funds and protections going to these infiltrators must stop, and immediate deportations need to begin.

Anyone who doesn’t agree needs to be banished with them.

If your parents aren’t legal citizens, you are not American, plain and simple.

If we don’t start these policies now, this country has no future.

The younger generation of Americans need to wake up. Sadly, this falls on them.
