Los Angeles cops are searching for a knife-wielding killer who stabbed a 35-year-old woman to death at her home in Sylmar last night.
Cops say the suspect is the boyfriend of the victim and he fled the scene with officers in hot pursuit.
Police were called to the victim’s home on Beaver Street just after 9 p.m. Wednesday, Los Angeles Police Department officials said.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with stab wounds but later succumbed to her gory injuries.
Police have identified the suspect in the fatal stabbing as the woman’s 35-year-old boyfriend. He disappeared from the woman’s home before officers arrived.
“We know who he is,” said a source with knowledge of the case.
Additional details about the incident were not immediately available.
A Los Angeles Unified School District spokesperson said students and staff from a school nearby, Gridley-Montanez Dual Language Academy, will be temporarily relocated to Maclay Middle School due to the ongoing police activity in the neighborhood.
LAPD officials said police are processing the crime scene and will soon release the area for normal activity.
The whereabouts of the suspect are still unknown, officials said, but police have leads on where to find him.
