Dick Vitale’s tests show ‘abnormalities’ as ESPN legend gives latest health update

ESPN Hall of Fame broadcaster Dick Vitale shared that “some abnormalities” were found after a series of routine scans last week.

Vitale, who announced he was cancer free last May after battling the disease four separate times in three years, shared a health update through ESPN public relations exec Josh Krulewitz on Wednesday, explaining that he will have a biopsy on Friday for additional testing.

“Like countless others, each time I go for any kind of test I am a nervous wreck,” Vitale, 86, wrote in the statement. “The latest example is my scans last week. The anxiousness you feel about the uncertainty is off the charts. You just never know what’s next and it can be surprising or scary.
