Germany Confirms Its Nvidia AI Deal: Will Any of Huang’s $2 Billion Europe Pledge Land in Berlin? Nvidia (NVDA:NASDAQ) now has its German industrial AI deal confirmed by Berlin. Government sources told Reuters on Friday, October 16, that Germany will announce the cooperation agreement next week, with partners beyond Nvidia. When Germany reportedly picked Nvidia for its industrial AI push on Thursday, the funding and participants came from Handelsblatt, and they still do. Financial terms haven't been disclosed. Financial terms still haven't been disclosed.

The timing tells investors more than the confirmation does. CEO Jensen Huang said in Paris on October 13 that Nvidia plans to announce $2 billion in European investments within a week, on top of the $8 billion it put into Europe over the past year. No report has tied the German agreement to that pledge yet.

Nvidia generated $127.01 billion in free cash flow over the last 12 months, up from $27.02 billion in fiscal 2024. The new $2 billion pledge is about 1.6% of that, or under six days of cash. The full $10 billion Europe total comes to about a month.

The German agreement reportedly involves investments totaling hundreds of millions of euros, though the funding split has not been disclosed. That amount would be small relative to Nvidia's annual free cash flow.

The Invest in Germany Summit runs October 19 and 20, and Huang gives his GTC Berlin keynote on October 21. Deutsche Telekom (DTEGY) is the company to watch alongside Nvidia: its Industrial AI Cloud already hosts SOOFI, the open model project at the center of Germany's plan.

If part of the $2 billion is earmarked for Germany, Nvidia is helping fund its own customer pipeline there. If it isn't, Nvidia is a supplier waiting to see whether the money turns into chip orders. The figure to listen for on October 21 is how much of the $2 billion Huang assigns to Germany.
