Make California Post a Preferred Source The Chargers have been atrocious this season, but Khalil Mack hasn’t given up on his team.
The veteran linebacker addressed trade rumors as the Chargers continue to search for its first win of the year.
“I’m focused on this team and what I’m doing right now,” Mack said. “I feel like the outside noise is the outside noise.”
Mack added he has “total faith” in the team and the organization, despite an 0-5 record that could very well be 0-6 with an upcoming divisional showdown against the undefeated Chiefs. As a free agent this offseason, the nine-time Pro Bowler could have signed elsewhere but ultimately returned to LA on a one-year, $18-million extension.
Mack’s return spoke volumes about the organization, given the defensive star is in the twilight of his career and hopes to win a ring with the Chargers. While a Super Bowl is now out of the picture this season, Mack’s remarks bode well for the sentiment within the locker room.
Nothing has gone right for the Chargers in 2026. Though there were high expectations surrounding the team ahead of the season, the slumping squad hasn’t been able to hit its winning stride.
Mack is in the midst of his fifth season in LA and could very well hang up his cleats donning the powder blue. While his performance will always be praised, Mack’s leadership should also be recognized.
