Skydiver's death at aerodrome under investigation

Emergency services were called to Headcorn Aerodrome in Ashford following a report that the body of a parachutist had been found at 10:00 BST on Monday.

A man in his 50s was confirmed dead and his next of kin have been informed, Kent Police said.

British Skydiving said it was investigating an accident at the aerodrome and findings would be passed to relevant authorities, including a coroner.

Police said the death was being treated as unexplained and an investigation was under way in liaison with the regulator.

Go Skydive, which operates at the airfield, has been approached for comment.
