“Wanted” posters have exposed a man branded “The Venice Karen” for allegedly harassing cops about the noise from local bars.
The pamphlets, done up in a Wild West style, picture Venice Neighborhood Council president David Feige, a former lawyer turned Hollywood producer.
They claim he built a massive mansion right next to the pubs before calling officers “30 times in one day” due to how loud it was.
But, in an interview with the California Post, Feige snapped back, claiming it was a conspiracy against him by a select few trying to “intimidate” him.
The wanted poster reads: “Who builds a multi-million dollar house right behind Hinano’s (est. 1962) and then calls the police 30 times in one day to complain about the noise? Last seen manically calling 911 from a brand-new mansion.”
Feige, who was a producer on the TV series “Daredevil: Born Again” and directed the 2016 documentary “Untouchable,” was furious.
He told The Post: “Obviously I saw the posters — after all, the point was to harass and intimidate me. The claims in the poster are complete lies pushed by a few bars that think they’re allowed to disrespect their neighbors by prioritizing their own profit over respecting their community.”
Asked who was putting them up, he continued: “This is about following the money. It isn’t the community speaking, it’s likely a couple of profiteering bars.
“Let’s be clear I’ve lived here since way before places like Nalu Vida even existed. They’re all just hiding behind Hinano (a great bar by the way), which has only been an issue since the outdoor space was created and has also made clear that they don’t support the posters and had nothing to do with it.”
He added: “I know all the owners and have for ages — I’ve spoken with them many times and have worked really well with most of them to come together and find common ground.
“But then, a few of them take the attitude that their profit is more important than their neighbors, and the rules don’t apply to them.
“At that point it becomes completely disrespectful of the locals and the other businesses that actually do respect the community and the rules.”
Feige has lived in Venice Beach for about two decades and recently assumed the Venice Neighborhood Council presidency after Brian Averill stepped down amid internal conflicts, reports say.
The 60-year-old has allegedly filed multiple complaints over the years against Hinano Cafe — a longtime Venice staple — as well as other nearby businesses including Cabo Cantina, The Whaler and Mercedes.
The complaints have centered on alleged noise violations, outdoor speakers, and businesses operating beyond permitted hours.
The poster circulating online does not explicitly identify Nalu Visa as the restaurant associated with the alleged complaints.
The Post has reached out to the businesses mentioned in the poster. It remains unclear who is behind the signs.
