Juan Soto to miss at least two weeks in Mets injury calamity

The Mets slugger is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a right calf strain, the team said Monday.

In a corresponding move, infielder Ronny Mauricio was called up from Triple-A.

Mets’ Juan Soto slides into home plate to score on a double by Bo Bichette during the first inning of a baseball game against the San Francisco Giants. AP Soto was hurt during Friday’s win while running the bases, but remained on the active roster as the team determined a course of action.

Through eight games, the four-time All-Star is slashing .355/.412/.516 with one homer and 5 RBIs and was one of the bright spots on an offense that has yet to find its stride.
