The ‘DWTS’ Finale Time, Channel, and Cast Previewed A deeply “unwell” group of public figures is taking on Alex Cooper‘s Unwell Winter Games, which dropped its first episode on YouTube today. The four-episode series features controversial stars like Dakota Mortensen and Demi Engemann from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Huda Mustafa from Love Island USA Season 7, and convicted con artist Anna Delvey, who is still sporting that infamous ankle monitor.
Delvey, who was the subject of Netflix’s Inventing Anna, was convicted in 2019 on multiple charges, including grand larceny, for swindling money from people while pretending to be a German heiress. Delvey was released from prison in 2021, though she was taken into ICE custody for overstaying her visa. When she was released the following year, she was ordered to undergo 24-hour house arrest in New York City. Despite her ongoing legal issues, authorities have allowed Delvey to participate in shows like Dancing with the Stars and Unwell Winter Games, as long she continues to wear her ankle monitor.
In the first episode of Unwell Winter Games, Delvey has to duck out early to charge her ankle monitor, which lost its battery due to the high altitudes of Park City, Utah.
“I have an ankle bracelet from ICE for my conviction and because I think I’m so high up, it died before it’s supposed to,” she says. “I’m so sorry to leave this early. I have to charge my ankle bracelet. I don’t want to get arrested. It would be so annoying if my team didn’t have a captain.”
Those familiar with Delvey know that her ankle monitor has become somewhat of a chic staple for the con artist. “It’s kinda fab,” contestant Cameron Jerrard tells the other players. “It’s like an accessory.”
Before joining Unwell Winter Games, Delvey famously competed on Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars … bedazzled ankle bracelet and all. The convicted fraudster went viral for her blasé attitude, specifically when she said she took “nothing” away from the experience after being eliminated in Week 2.
Perhaps she will do a bit better in this competition series!
The next episode of Unwell Winter Games will air on Tuesday, April 7 at 12 p.m. ET on YouTube.
