Bo Lueders, the guitarist for pioneering hardcore band Harm’s Way, tragically died at just 38 years old.
His bandmates shared the news in a heartbreaking Instagram post, saying the musician “will be remembered for his unwavering empathy and compassion for his friends & family and his magnetic, inimitable presence on & off the stage.”
While Lueders’ cause of death was provided, his band mentioned the suicide and crisis lifeline for those “struggling with depression or urges to self-harm.”
A GoFundMe campaign organized by Lueder’s “HardLore” podcast co-host Colin Young to help the guitarist’s mother and girlfriend pay memorial expenses in Chicago described the artist as “Beloved to the world.”
Born Bohan Daniel Lueders in November 1987, he co-founded Harm’s Way in 2006 as a side project of punk band Few and the Proud, which later became a full-time act, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The band went on to release five studio albums and five EPs, including “Human Carrying Capacity,” “Become a Machine” and “Call My Name.”
Lueders helped launch the “HardLore” podcast in 2022 alongside Young, focusing on life in the hardcore, punk and metal scene.
In a recent episode answering listener questions, Lueders said he would most like to hear a Björk song before he died.
“I just wanna drift and go peacefully,” he said.
