Pete Davidson lists his ‘paradise’ Westchester home after losing money on Staten Island condo

They call it the Forgotten Borough, but not for Pete Davidson.

The comedian and new father is putting his Westchester County retreat on the market just three years after buying it, as he shifts his focus closer to family in Staten Island.

Listing the North Salem property for $2.27 million, the former “Saturday Night Live” cast member purchased the more than 6-acre spread for $1.95 million in 2023.

He transformed the 1930s-era home into a highly personalized escape with a guesthouse, a pool, a sauna and a hidden speakeasy tucked behind a sliding wall.

The four-bedroom, three-bath property also doubled as a creative hub, where he hosted commercial shoots and where it served as the filming location for his Netflix podcast.

Despite the upgrades, the move comes down to logistics. After welcoming his daughter, Scottie Rose, Davidson said the distance from loved ones in Staten Island and New Jersey became harder to justify.

“It’s literally like living in paradise,” he told Mansion Global in an interview, describing the quiet and privacy that first drew him to the area after touring dozens of homes.

“The thing I hated about living in the city all the time was, I would wake up to so much noise, whether it would be garbage being picked up or people fighting or your neighbors or whatever’s going on on the street,” Davidson, 32, added. “In North Salem, I would wake up naturally, and I wouldn’t feel a thing; it was the most special feeling.”

Occupying 2,300 square feet, the sprawling property sits on 6 acres.

Over time, what started as a weekend escape became a full-time residence. Davidson leaned into the home’s character during renovations, steering away from newer builds.

“I’m not a big fan of modern houses because they all kind of look the same,” he said. “Just kind of soulless and white. I added little things to it while still keeping its integrity and charm.”

The property’s seclusion was a major draw, with the house set far back from the road and neighbors barely within sight. Locally, Davidson blended in easily, frequenting nearby spots and joining a recreational basketball league. “What’s cool about North Salem and the whole Westchester area is everyone pretty much keeps to themselves, and I really don’t get bothered up there,” he said.

The home also holds personal milestones. It was there that his partner shared news that they were expecting their daughter, a moment that now anchors his decision to leave.

Even so, Davidson acknowledged the emotional weight of the sale with a joke tied to one of his most recognizable characters — Chad, the “SNL” character he’s most known for.

“I told Chad we were going to sell it,” he quipped. “He’s very upset. You could see it in his eyes. He’s not a man of a lot of words, but in his eyes, you could tell he was sad to go.”

“It feels light and fun while also cozy and charming, and the year-round lap pool looking out over the lake is beyond spectacular,” Jaclene Ginnel of Ginnel Real Estate, whose brokerage listed the house in February, initially for $2.49, told Mansion Global.

Muffin Dowdle of Ginnel Real Estate holds the listing.

The Westchester listing lands as Davidson is also navigating another real estate exit closer to home.

His Staten Island condo — located at 90 Bay Street Landing — has lingered on the market for roughly four years after first being listed in 2022.

Originally purchased for $1.2 million, the unit underwent a full gut renovation and was eventually relisted at a sharply reduced $850,000 earlier this year. A buyer has since emerged, though the final sale price has not been disclosed, with Davidson poised to take a significant loss even before factoring in renovation costs.
