NY college student slashed by Mexican national as she drove him home from work: police

Make New York Post a Preferred Source A New York man is accused of slashing the throat of a female coworker while she was giving him a ride home, according to police.

Saratoga Springs police said they responded Friday to a report of a car that crashed into Augie’s To-Go, an Italian restaurant, and found the driver had a “serious laceration” to her neck that appeared unrelated to the crash.

David Cruz Torres, 36, of Michoacán, Mexico was identified as the passenger in the car and tried to flee the area before he was detained by police officers.

After an investigation, detectives learned that the female victim and Cruz Torres work together in Saratoga Springs.

At the end of their shift, Cruz Torres asked the woman for a ride home.

According to police, Cruz Torres attacked the victim while she was driving him home, pulling out a knife and cutting her throat.

The victim jumped out of the car as it was still moving and was able to yell for help.

Police said the victim was left with life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital.

Cruz Torres was charged with second-degree attempted murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Department of Homeland Security.
