Tiger Woods revealed he was ‘hoping to’ play in 2026 Masters during DUI arrest

Tiger Woods was looking to make a comeback at The Masters before his DUI arrest on Friday.

Woods made the remarks during an exchange with cops shortly after he wrecked his Range Rover SUV, according to bodycam footage viewed by The Post.

One of the officers asked Woods if he was going to play in The Masters this year, which is set to start on April 9.

A worker towing Woods’ car in the background then jokingly told the police, “That depends on y’all.”

“Don’t depend on me,” the officer replied.

Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley confirmed in a statement Tuesday that Woods will not be playing in The Masters.

“Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters tournament full support Tiger Woods as he focuses on his well-being,” Ridley said. “Although Tiger will not be joining us in person next week, his presence will be felt here in Augusta.”

The five-time green jacket winner’s comments following the crash came moments after police asked the legendary golfer if he needed anything from the flipped vehicle.

Woods’ longtime manager and close friend, Rob McNamara, who was at the scene, told police that he needed the 50-year-old’s golf clubs.

“I understand. Worth more than my house,” the officer jokingly replied.

“Putter’s worth more than all our houses,” McNamara said while Woods was in the back of the police vehicle.

“I won 14 majors with it,” Woods then boasted, though it’s unclear if the putter he’s referencing is the one left in his car.

The bodycam footage also showed Woods boasting to officers that he called President Donald Trump following the crash.

“Yeah, I was just talking with the president,” Woods casually told the sheriff’s deputy.

On Tuesday evening, Woods revealed that he would be seeking treatment after pleading not guilty in Martin County, Florida court.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” he wrote in a statement shared on social media. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.

“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
