Don’t let foreign-backed, far-left groups destroy America from within

Make New York Post a Preferred Source It’s no secret that far-left domestic groups linked to foreigners are sowing chaos and hate on American streets and meddling in US elections.

But these outfits have managed to keep their funding details hidden, even as they enjoy tax breaks.

Good for House Republicans for fighting to expose them, end the outrageous breaks and uncover any unlawful activity here.

This week, the House Ways and Means Committee set a hard Oct. 20 deadline for three groups in particular — The People’s Forum, BreakThrough News and Tricontinental — to comply with congressional subpoenas for info on their “fiscal sponsorships involving foreign nationals or foreign entities.”

All three are tied to Neville Roy Singham, the Shanghai-based millionaire loyal to the Chinese Communist Party, and his vast network of funds and shell companies — which he uses to enflame antisemitism and other divisions and meddle in US politics.

“Shanghai Singham has poured millions of dollars into these groups to . . . That much is public,” conceded committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo.). But “what these groups are fighting to keep hidden is even more concerning.”

The People’s Forum has reportedly raked in $22.4 million from the Singham network, Tricontinentental got $16.8 million more and $1 million went to Breakthrough BT Media Inc.

Last month, Smith charged that the Middle East Children’s Alliance, which is funded by Singham’s network, “repeatedly funded organizations tied” to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestinian, a US-designated terror group.

Facebook/BreakThrough News Meanwhile, in June, the US attorney for the Southern District launched a grand-jury probe into Singham and his network focusing on money-laundering, bank fraud and wire fraud.

These steps are absolutely critical — but only a start.

Singham’s network is reportedly linked to the endless “protests” backing Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran among other anti-American causes; it has also supported the communist regimes in Venezuela and Cuba.

And spread misinformation about AI and data centers — working to slow US development and so help China gain an edge.

In February, threat-assessment expert Adam Sohn testified that the network’s funds are behind the vandalization of federal property and “police officers assaulted. Airports blocked at JFK and LAX. Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges shut down. Ambulances and commuters disrupted. Wall Street blockaded; holiday commerce halted at Macy’s Herald Square; and immigration and law-enforcement facilities targeted.”

He blasted it as a “system for paralyzing American infrastructure on demand, financed through US tax law and aligned with a hostile foreign power.”

Americans have every right to protest and speak their minds. But when foreigners are using front groups to destroy the country, America needs to fight back.
