Marvell Technology, the data-infrastructure chip designer (NASDAQ:MRVL), unveiled two AI-connectivity devices on October 13, while shares traded at $259.80, down approximately 2.3% at 11.19am EST. The opportunity is straightforward: bigger AI systems need faster connections between chips, servers and switches. But customer sampling is an early milestone. The Alaska E retimer supports 3.2T connectivity through sixteen 224G lanes, while the second-generation Alaska A digital signal processor uses 3nm technology for 1.6T active electrical cables. Marvell says both devices are sampling, without providing booked volumes in the announcement. Separately, Barron's reported that Stifel analyst Tore Svanberg viewed Microsoft's Maia 300 launch as positive for Marvell. That adds another potential growth driver, though an analyst's outlook is still an outlook.
