Gun-wielding rapist and convicted murderer fatally shot by cop in the Bronx

An armed rapist was fatally shot in the head by an NYPD officer after he repeatedly threatened “I have a gun” as they tried to take him into custody in the Bronx early Thursday, police said.

Lucien Colon, 44, started wielding the firearm when members of the Bronx Warrant Squad showed up at his apartment in Mott Haven to nab him on an outstanding sex offender warrant, according to cops.

Officers found the convicted sex pest sitting on a bed after being let into the apartment by a woman at about 6:45 a.m., the NYPD said.

The officers were trying to arrest Colon, who was convicted of rape in 1997, on an outstanding warrant after he failed to meet his sex offender registry requirements.

The felon had a slew of other raps to his name, too, including a 2013 murder and 1998 robbery, police said.

He was released from prison in 2023 on the murder charge.
