NFL Week 6 Survivor picks, analysis: The case to avoid the obvious Rams

Week 5 was tough sledding for anyone in pick ‘em pools, as the Cowboys were the clear top option for most players, but they were blown out at home by the Buccaneers.

The shocking loss eliminated 42.8 percent of remaining entrants from the big Circa Survivor tournament.

It was also a major sweat, with another 9.6 percent having the Jaguars and nearly losing it on a last-second Eagles field goal.

We move into Week 6 with two games featuring favorites of more than two scores that will garner the lion’s share of attention.

It’s a short week, but it shouldn’t matter. The Rams are going to get a ton of love from the Survivor Pool players and rightfully so.

The Rams are 2-3, so this isn’t a game I’d expect them to overlook either; they need to win in order to keep pace in a crowded NFC West.

Arizona was just blasted by the Lions last week and came into the season as the favorite to be picking No. 1 overall in this year’s NFL Draft.

With that, I expect the Rams to roll here as nearly two-touchdown favorites against a division rival.

I expect more than 50 percent of entrants to have the Rams this week.

Everyone is going to use the Rams this week and rightfully so, but the Giants have a brutal rest-of-season schedule, giving everyone no chance to use them going forward.

Taking the Giants in Survivor this week is super risky, but they’re at home and playing pretty well.

It’s a contrarian play, but this is the best chance to use the Giants and a good punt play.

I’m not a fan of the Colts one bit, but the Titans are a team to target in Survivor, given where they stack up on the advanced analytics side.

Tennessee is rated No. 31 in the NFL in DVOA, compared to a not-quite-as-bad No. 21 in DVOA for the Colts.

Daniel Jones isn’t good, and Jonathan Taylor is having trouble finding running lanes, but if you’re looking for another time to save the Rams where everyone else has used them, this isn’t a bad landing spot either.
