Electric-vehicle and tech giant Tesla Inc. (TSLA, Financials) has bounced back significantly from 52-week lows, aided by improved third-quarter deliveries and work surrounding Robotaxi. But the value still does a lot of the heavy lifting.Tesla trades at around $1.5 trillion, or about 158 times earnings forecast for 2026. The research cites a sum-of-the-parts estimate that values the automotive and services market at around $84.4 billion, energy at $51.6 billion and Full Self-Driving + Robotaxi at about $369 billion.Add in net cash and the total is around $539 billion. That still leaves about $960 billion to explain.A sizable chunk of that deficit would have to come from Optimus and other prospective firms that don't yet earn considerable commercial income. The exercise is somewhat susceptible to assumptions but that's the goal. At today's pricing, Tesla already asks investors to buy into numerous long-term investments at extremely high scale.Wall Street is somewhat positive with an average price objective of $404.87, meaning around 6.6% upside from the levels indicated in the report. The next test is whether Robotaxi, FSD and Optimus can start to generate enough demonstrable revenue and cash flow to close the gap between Tesla's present profitability and the expectations baked into its stock.
