The Rock Hall of Famers just put the pedal to the metal and announced a summer 2026 tour with special guest Kansas at all shows and opening act Jefferson Starship joining the heavy pair on select dates.
While out and about, the classic rock icons will headline theaters, casinos and amphitheaters all over North America from early August through mid-September.
That includes two gigs in New York. They’re scheduled to take place at:
Jones Beach TheaterWantagh, NYWednesday, Aug. 12Seneca Allegany CasinoSalamanca, NYSaturday, Aug. 22
These concerts come on the heels of their 2024 ‘1 More Time Tour’ that were in support of their 23rd studio album “=1.”
According to Set List FM, the long-running Londoners delivered their hits at live shows — “Smoke On The Water,” “Highway Star,” “Hush” and, of course, “Space Truckin'” — along with cuts from the new record like “Portable Door,” “A Bit On The Side” and “Lazy Sod.”
“Age cannot wither these pogoing rock elders,” The Guardian wrote in a four-star review of a November 2024 gig at London’s O2 Arena.
“At 79, Ian Gillan isn’t going to be asking for ‘Child in Time’ to be returned to the set to test his falsetto scream, but his voice is strong and true, and he can summon a roar when needed, as on ‘Into the Fire.’ Ian Paice, 76, thunders around his drum kit like a man a quarter of his age, while bassist Roger Glover is one of the few 78-year-olds who can still pogo on stage.”

Deep Purple wrapped their last U.S. trek at The Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton, PA on Sept. 8, 2024. This is what Set List FM reported they performed:
17.) “Green Onions” (Booker T. & the MG’s cover)
On July 19, 2024, Deep Purple released their 23rd studio album “=1.”
More than 50 years into their run, the group still melts faces.
They prove this right out of the gate with the headbanger’s delight “Show Me,” which melds prog and psychedelia with a splash of metal to create a delightful rock and roll cocktail.
Other highlights on the record include the hard-charging epic “A Bit On The Side,” rambunctious singalong “Portable Door” (that ably shows off Gillan’s pipes), jangly anthem “Old-Fangled Thing,” angsty strutter “I’m Saying Nothing,” plaintive ballad “I’ll Catch You” and “Lazy Sod,” which must be blasted on a Harley to be fully appreciated.
However, the real standout here has to be the exquisite “Now You’re Talkin'” with its virtuosic guitar solos, boot-stompin’ drums and impassioned vocals that’ll leave you with your jaw on the floor. This is not what 70-year-olds sound like.
To hear for yourself, you can find “=1” here.
PS: Stick around until the very end for the maximalist jam “Bleeding Obvious.” You’ll thank us later.
At all shows, Gillan and co, will be joined by Kansas, aka the group that brought the world “Carry On Wayward Son,” “Dust in the Wind” and “Point of Know Return.” When they’re not supporting Deep Purple, they’ll be conducting a solo tour of their own (which, of course, includes concerts in Kansas).
On select dates, Jefferson Starship are scheduled to get in on the action. For those not familiar with the band, they’re most well-known for “We Built This City,” “Jane,” “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” and Jefferson Airplane classics “Somebody To Love” and “White Rabbit.” On top of the Deep Purple run, they’ll also co-headline with The Marshall Tucker Band and put on a few solo shows as well.
