Joe Manganiello has cutting response to ex Sofía Vergara’s ‘narcissist’ post

Make Page Six a Preferred Source Joe Manganiello is not entertaining any social media drama with his ex-wife, Sofía Vergara.

The “True Blood” alum addressed Vergara clapping back at his upcoming memoir, after an excerpt was released in which he claimed she treated him badly while he was fighting a near-fatal autoimmune disease during their marriage.

Manganiello was asked about the “Modern Family” alum sharing a pointed post on Instagram about “narcissistic men” during his appearance on “CBS Mornings” Monday, and he stressed that his memoir, “Bloodlines” — out Tuesday — isn’t about his failed marriage.

“Well, I think anybody who said that should read the book first and understand what the book is actually about because it’s not about that,” he told host Gayle King. “It’s about the suffering I went through.”

“I try to paint everyone with an amount of grace, no matter who they are,” he added. “Because it is a nuanced discussion, and it’s not something I care to carry out on social media.”

He reflected on the “tough” time in his life.

“The trauma and the pain affected everyone in my life, including me in ways that you can’t predict,” he shared.

“This book is about the journey I went through,” he continued.

In the “Bloodlines” excerpt obtained by People, Manganiello claims Vergara “ridiculed” him for his 5-pound dog named Bubbles, whom he adopted in 2019 when he was considering suicide.

He also claimed that his now ex-wife refused to hug him, even when he begged, when he was severely sick.

On Friday, Vergara shared a post originally shared by her son, 35-year-old Manolo, which reflected on “dealing with a narcissist” and contrasted their behavior to that of “good men.”

“Remember kids … it doesn’t matter how much you do for a [narcissist],” Manolo wrote. “They will resent you for it and nothing will ever be enough and they’ll always somehow try to paint you as the bad guy.”

The prior evening, Vergara shared another telling re-post about “the ability to laugh at oneself” being a sign of “the highest form of intelligence,” while the “inability” to laugh is proof of “dealing with an idiot.”

Manganiello, 49, and Vergara, 54, split in July 2023 after seven years of marriage.

Although she later claimed that his desire to want kids and her not wanting to be an “old mom” led to their divorce, he claims in his book that he actually also gave up on the idea of having children because of his illness.

“There were things said and printed about me that were false,” Manganiello says.
