Shohei Ohtani’s crotch-grab response to Brewers NLCS boos sparks debate

Make California Post a Preferred Source The Milwaukee Brewers got the last laugh in their NLCS Game 1 showdown against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday night, as they won 2-1 in a thrilling game.

Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani seemed to get the first laugh during player introductions before the game began.

When the Japanese superstar was announced before the game, he was serenaded by boos from Brewers fans while jogging out of the dugout to greet his teammates along to foul line.

Ohtani, who went 1-for-3 at the plate with a single, a walk, and a strikeout during the loss, clearly grabbed at his crotch area for a moment during this jog, then laughed about it with his Dodgers teammates right afterwards.

Videos of this crotch-grab have gone viral on social media, but there is a debate about his motive.

Some fans feel like Ohtani was simply adjusting his cup at a time when the camera was on him. Others believe this was his response to Brewers fans booing him passionately.

If Brewers fans believe that Ohtani’s crotch-grab was in response to their jeering, boos toward Ohtani will likely be even louder for Game 2 on Monday.

The Dodgers will look to even up the best-of-seven series. First pitch is slated for just after 2:00pm Pacific.
