Bethenny Frankel gave her followers a stark warning against trying to turn children against their ex-spouse.
“Do not try to turn your kids against your ex,” the former reality star said in an Instagram video Sunday.
Frankel cautioned that no matter how “active, proactive, or subtle” someone thinks they are being in trying to turn their kid against their ex, it will always come back to bite them.
“No matter how abusive, controlling, problematic your ex is, you will end up turning your kid against you.”
She continued, “There are so many examples of this and it is a long road. Whatever is happening today with you and your kids is not the same thing that will be happening in years to come.
“It is hard to see when they’re little, but the best thing for your children is to keep your thoughts, your anger and your misery to yourself.”
Frankel concluded that people should “play the long game” and do “what is best” for their children.
Her frank advice comes weeks after the “Real Housewives of New York” alum gave an update on co-parenting with ex-husband Jason Hoppy.
“It’s been a strained year. It’s been a challenging year,” she admitted on the “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast hosted by Benny Blanco.
The swimwear designer, 55, said that her divorce from Hoppy — with whom she shares 16-year-old daughter, Bryn — was a “traumatic” exercise she likened to “torture.”
“There were a lot of circumstances that have been too much,” the Skinnygirl founder shared, noting their “10 years [in legal proceedings] on a two-year marriage.”
The exes, notably, split in 2012, but their divorce wasn’t finalized until 2021.
Frankel was ultimately granted primary residential custody of Bryn after what she described as a “two-year marriage” followed by a “10-year, horrible, horrendous, worst-of-my-life divorce.”

Despite the traumatic split from Bryn’s father, Frankel gushed over her relationship with her teen daughter.
“I love her so much,” she said, noting that they are “in between” being mother and daughter and friends.
“When we vibe and we are watching something and we’re laughing, we connect,” she added.
Frankel previously admitted that Bryn was the only reason she got through the nasty divorce from Hoppy.
The businesswoman claimed she “lost hair” and thought she “would never survive” the split, going so far as to say she “didn’t want to.”
“I had to because of my daughter,” Frankel recalled while becoming emotional on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in December 2025. “I literally thought, ‘I’ll never be happy again.’”
