Hurricane victim’s husband saw his ‘ultra-nice, badass’ wife being killed by tree crashing through home

Make New York Post a Preferred Source The husband of a woman killed in Florida by Hurricane Isaias over the weekend has described the horrific moment a falling tree crashed through their roof, crushing and killing his “ultra-nice badass” wife.

Jenn Biggs Williams, 57, a human resources worker, had just gone into her house with her husband of 10 years, Joey, after stepping out to survey the damage, when the large tree smashed into their living room, trapping them beneath it.

“I was able to squeeze out. My wife didn’t make it. The tree just fell on her,” Joey told NewsNation.

He added that his one consolation was that Jenn’s death “was pretty instant.”

Joey managed to get out and beg a neighbor for help, as 100mph winds whipped his property.

“I’m like, ‘My wife’s trapped under the tree. Please, please,’ And, I mean, there’s nothing we can do,” he said.

“They let me say bye to her. I watched the love of my life for 10 years go into the back of a coroner’s van and head down that road. That’s the hardest thing I ever swallowed in my life,” Joey said, adding that his wife had been loved by everyone.

“Everybody loved her, right? Even her co-workers. She was the ultra-nice badass person,” he said.“I just want to hear her voice. I’ve called her phone five times just to tell her … she was my world,” Joey said.

Jenn is the first known fatality of Hurricane Isaias, with a second victim dying in Birmingham, Alabama, in connection with the storm over the weekend, the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency director confirmed.
