Make New York Post a Preferred Source The baby who plunged from a 15th-floor balcony in her mother’s arms when the two were allegedly pushed by the child’s monster father in the Bronx has taken a turn for the worse and is in dire condition at a hospital, The Post has learned.
“They are keeping their fingers crossed,” a hospital insider told The Post of the 8-month-old’s condition. “She is not doing well.”
Little Angel Novalty Carrasco-Ramirez was taken to Jacobi Hospital after she miraculously survived the fall that killed her mom, 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez on Tuesday. The infant has since been transferred to Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Queens.
Ramirez’s ex-boyfriend and Angel Novalty’s father, Angel Carrasco, 31, fled but was arrested Wednesday by US Marshals and NYPD cops.
He was taken to Jacobi for a medical evaluation after the atrocity and is facing murder and attempted murder charges. His arraignment is pending.
Mourners gathered for a vigil on Saturday at the building where Ramirez and her baby were pushed.
Around 200 people attended the vigil, which was adorned with purple and white balloons and heart-shaped candles and was sponsored by We All Really Matter (WARM), an organization that helps cover funerals for domestic violence victims.
Attendees chanted “Jutice for Nataly” and “Long live Nataly.”
Ramirez’s heartbroken mom, who identified herself as Nathaly, thanked everyone for coming to the vigil and talked about how her daughter “helped mistreated women, and men.”
“She loved honestly,” the mom and grandmother told the crowd. “She hugged with a tenderness that only had peace.”
Photos of other domestic violence victims, including Lovay Williams, stood nearby.
Williams was found beaten to death inside her Washington Heights apartment on West 156th Street in Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood on Sept. 6. Tiliek Shamel Thompson, 41, was charged with murder, strangulation, assault, and child abandonment in connection with her death. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges he faces.
Brianna Rios, a domestic violence survivor who was once consoled by Ramirez, spoke to the gathering about the tragic mom’s trials with Carrasco.
“Natalie, unfortunately, is being added onto this very long list of beautiful faces and names,” Rios said.
Rios called for change when it comes to domestic violence and “protecting family, children, and these beautiful women.”
“The police were called to Nathaly’s home over five times,” the 24-year-old said. “The killer of Nathaly Ramirez was arrested two times – once for slapping her, the second time for breaking and entering into her home. .. Not only was he able to get next to her again, he was able to kill her.”
