“I was pretty stunned,” Zuby Ejiofor said. “He was talking about guys like Walter Berry and Chris Mullin, and the list goes on and on. I was never really expecting my name to be called, honestly. But it’s a truly special moment. I’m really just entirely grateful for that recognition. I’m gonna be telling my family pretty soon.”
Ejiofor is a self-made star — with immense help from Pitino — who transferred two years ago from Kansas.
“I’m well aware of that,” he said and laughed.
