The United States secured a 6-2 win over Canada in Sunday’s Paralympics sled hockey gold medal game at the 2026 Winter Games in Italy, becoming the first nation to claim five consecutive Paralympic titles.
The U.S. also became the first country to pull off a clean sweep of all three Paralympic and Olympic hockey events at a single tournament.

Leading the charge for the Americans was Jack Wallace, who delivered a hat-trick and an assist in a remarkable performance.
“This team is so special,” the three-time Paralympian told NBC’s Andrea Joyce after the game. “We love each other. This team grinded it out, a gritty f—ing game. It was unbelievable. I love these guys so much.”
Kayden Beasley, Declan Farmer (assisted by Wallace) and Brody Roybal rounded out the scoring for the U.S., while Canada’s Liam Hickey netted both goals for the Great White North.
The United States breezed through the Paralympic tournament, swiftly dispatching Italy, Germany, China, and finally the Czech Republic (Czechia) en route to the final.
There, the Americans met a familiar foe in their North American rival and fellow sled hockey powerhouse — against whom they’ve met in three straight Paralympic finals and eight consecutive world championship finals.

The Paralympic triumph punctuated a clean sweep for the Americans across all three hockey events at Italy’s games — with the men’s and women’s Olympic teams both beating Canada, 2-1, in overtime last month.
Megan Keller sunk the golden goal for the women’s team on Feb. 19 before Jack Hughes lifted the men’s squad to victory three days later.
